That is a nice idea, but I would distinguish between sample code for tutorials or advanced learning, and simple inline examples helpful to clarify concept that, otherwise, might result too abstract to readers.

Sample repositories might be useful not only for XLL, but for XSL and XML Schema too. There is some public stuff around, but they tends to be obsolete because of speed of changes in draft standards. 

What I suggested was to add a line of code after definitions or complicated statements in CR, to facilitate understanding. For example, is

#xpointer(p/text()/10)

a correct way to address the character-point after J in

<p>Dario de Judicibus</>

? Reading the draft it looks correct, but there is no explicit statement that /n notation can be used for indexing character-points as well as node-points.
