The definite description "XML document's information set" in "For the purposes of this specification, the information in an XML document is that described by the XML Information Set Specification [Infoset]. The canonical form of an XML document, which is itself an XML document, also has an information set. This section describes what portion of an XML document's information set is included in that of its canonical form." -- http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/WD-xml-c14n-20000119 is ill-formed: it assumes each XML document has exactly one information set. Not so: "For any given XML document, there are a number of corresponding information sets ..." -- http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/WD-xml-infoset-19991220 I still think this is awkward and counterproductive; I suggest we re-consider along the lines suggested in: Relationship or Canonical XML to the InfoSet From: Kay Michael (Michael.Kay@icl.com) Date: Mon, Jan 24 2000 http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-xml-infoset-comments/2000JanMar/0009.html -- Dan Connolly, W3C http://www.w3.org/People/Connolly/
