In the 20-Dec-1999 XML Infoset WD, section 1 (Introduction), the third note reads: ] Note: To the best of the editors' knowledge and belief, the interface ] specified by the Document Object Model, Level 1 Core Recommendation ] [DOM] conforms to the XML Information Set as currently specified. I don't think so; DOM Level 1 was before XML Namespaces. Arguably one *could* calculate the namespace URIs, given a DOM-1 Document object. But DOM-1 doesn't really "provide" that info. -- Jason Orendorff
