Dear members of the XML Infoset WG, This mail discharges action #90 from FTF#6 of the W3C I18N WG [FTF6-Mins]. The W3C I18N WG agreed at its meeting on 14-15 May 1999 to recommend that the XML Information Set specification [ISet]: - In section 2.3 [ISet-sec-2.3], should not exclude xml:lang from attribute information items. - In section 2.6.1 [ISet-sec-2.6], should refer to the permitted character code values in the XML specification rather than include an incomplete specification of the permitted values. Note: Regarding the second point, our main concern was that section 2.6.1 of the XML Information Set specification, unlike production 2 [XML-prod-2] of the XML specification, does not make clear that the so-called "surrogate" ranges are illegal. In any discussion of technical matters with the I18N WG and IG, please use the address (w3c-i18n-ig@w3.org).
