Since this group has just started up, here are my suggestions for some discussion topics... 1. webservices interoperability One concern I have about webservices interoperability is the fact that companies are already bringing out webservices enabled software that although is based on SOAP, has proprietary standards included for data exchange. We need webservices to understand each other fully both at the messaging layer (SOAP) and the data exchange layer (ebXML). Is there a need to bring in a type of 'certification' procedure for webservices related products to say that they conform to standards, and are interoperable? Will they fact that they say they are ebXML compliant be enough? 2. quality of service Registries such as UDDI which contains an organized collection of business Web service descriptions to everyone. I expect there will be many webservices in the future which offer a similar service. How will a prospective customer differentiate on quality of service, will they then need to go elsewhere to other registries which may offer this information. Will there be special robots that may interface with the UDDI registry, extract lists of suitable webservices and then conduct quality of service investigations.. just some suggestions..all comments are welcome regards colin adam www.webservices.org
