Choreography charter proposal: liaison with the Semantic Web Activity and the DAML-S committee

First, please accept my regrets for tomorrow's call. I will not be
able to attend due to travel.

I have been holding up the following comments on the choreography
proposal in order to let people focus on their discussion topic at the
time, and I now feel that it is the right time and place to spell them
out:

The proposed charter[1] does not mention any relationship with any
Semantic Web work. I think that it is important to do so, because Web
services will need semantics as has been underlined by people several
times, and as the Web Services Architecture Requirements call out[2].

It is my opinion that the Working Group should have a dependency on
the Semantic Web Activity to avoid misalignment, as AC009 says.

I also think that choreography is getting close to the work that the
DAML-S committee is doing. With the very active participation of Katia
Sycara in the Web Services Architecture Working Group, our liaison
with this group is working well, and believe that the DAML-S committee
needs to be added to the external groups to liaise with.

I think that such liaisons go in the direction of the SWA/WSA
so-called loose coupling.

Regards,

Hugo
