Status of WS Description WG: 1) Requirements. The bulk of our telcon time to date has been spent on collecting and refining our requirements document. This process has just begun converging, but terminology differences are making progress slow. To aid our discussion, we have had to define terms used in the requirements. We should be on track to publish a draft (although not the final draft) after the April FTF. 2) Use cases. We have collected use cases, but have just begun to discuss and clarify them. Members have been asked to contribute WSDL 1.1 snippets illustrating each use case. 3) Specification. Editors are converting WSDL 1.1 into XML, and splitting it into two pieces. We have not begun technical work on the specification. The charter is vague on whether the group is to define WSDL 1.2 as a cleaned up WSDL 1.1, or a new language (I'll call it WSDL 2.0) with significant new features. This debate is ongoing, and the outcome will have significant impact on our schedule. - Jonathan
