DASL Charter

Ok, first of all, its great to see a discussion going here- I think we have some very interesting viewpoints.

The March IETF is coming up rapidly. I would like to solidify the charter ASAP, so I would rather get specific quickly rather than have an extended debate here- Many of these issues are actually good things to address in the requirements discussion. I would like to request that everyone involved here either:

a) Post to the list saying that you support the current charter "as is"

or

b) Post to the list with some specific recommended changes to the charter, so we can revise it quickly.


Finally, to add my own two cents to this debate. I think that IETF working groups are more successful when they have a very narrow focused charter- This doesn't mean that the design can't be successfully used in more broad applications. I think the DAV working group has been a great example of this sort of principle and I hope we can carry it forward here.
