On March 4-5, the Voice Browser Working Group held a Face-to-Face meeting in Cannes-Mandelieu, France. VoiceXML 2.0 and SRGS have been in candidate recommendation status for several weeks and are ready to proceed to full recommendation. [VoiceXML 2.0 and SRGS were made full recomendatioins on March 16] All of the issues with the SSML last call working draft have been resolved. We ironed out some minor problems with the SSML implementation report. The Call Control subgroup reviewed the current working draft of CCXML, resolved several issues and made several changes to improve readability and set a goal of issuing the CCXML document next quarter. We believe we have resolved all of the outstanding issues with the Semantic Interpretation language, and will publish it as a last call working draft as soon as we update the document. We reviewed requirements for V3, the follow-on to VoiceXML 2.0, and established a preliminary high-level architecture. There will be several specification documents, including a kernel specification and one or ore dialog modules, the first of which will be based on the present VoiceXML 2.0. We estimate that V3 will reach final recommendation in early 2007. Here is a more detailed publication plan from the Voice Browser working Group: VoiceXML 2.0 - Recommendation, March 16 2004 SRGS - Recommendation, March 16, 2004 SSML - Proposed Recommendation, 2Q04; full recommendation 3Q04 Semantic Interpretation - Last Call working draft 2Q04 CCXML - Last call working draft 2Q04 VoiceXML 2.1 working draft March 2004, Last Call working draft 2Q04 V3 Kernel working draft in 1Q05, last call working draft in 1Q06, with a final recommendation 1Q07 Regards, Jim Larson and Scott McGlashan Co-chairs Voice Browser Working Group
