Hi Max, I still consider it unfortunate that there is no provision to have ABNF meta values containing both single and double quotes, as I believe the mapping between the XML form and ABNF should be "lossless". Having said that, I agree that it might be confusing to add escapes (in particular for tags) and thus accept the resolution. The purpose of this email is to ask you if you accept the Working Group's decision on the issue you raised. On 29 October 2002, you sent comments on "Metadata containing both " and ' in ABNF format" [1] to which the WG answered [2], with an explanation of why it made those particular choices. Do you accept this resolution? Your acceptance or dissent will be recorded in the Disposition of Comments documents [3]. In case of dissent the WG will do its best to resolve the issue by explaining its choice or by making more amendments to the spec.
