It states it detects a p-end tag, but not an initial p-tag; it is however clearly present. The code is very small and has only one instance of <p></p>, please see screenshot below or about.htm attached with this email. On the screenshot you can clearly see that on line 16 the initial p-tag opens just below the h1-element. Just as the validator states, it is closed at line 24.

I think that you will find that the <p> element started by your opening <p> tag has been implicitly closed by the <ul> element which intervenes between the opening <p> tag and the </p> tag with which you sought to close it.
