The W3C Nu Markup Validator (aka HTML5 validator) now has a "Show outline" feature, for generating an outline of the headings of the document being validated - http://validator.w3.org/nu/ Press the "Options" button to see the full list of options. The feature conforms to the outline algorithm defined in the HTML spec: http://www.w3.org/html/wg/drafts/html/master/sections.html#outlines ...which means that it doesn't simply generate the outline based on the level of the h1-h6 headings -- it also considers, e.g., the nesting level of headings with <section> elements and such. --Mike -- Michael[tm] Smith http://people.w3.org/mike
