Hello Jeroen, I think this is a version issue. The current version of validator.nuvalidates language tags against RFC 5646 http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5646 that is, the current RFC for language tags. The previous version validated against RFC 4646 http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4646 the predecessor of RFC 5646.
