The weird line numbers suggest to me that they might be actually reports originating from errors accessing/parsing the DTDs, not the documents [0]. Perhaps your validator sgml-lib isn't set up properly, or its catalog doesn't work for some reason and you receive an error when validator tries to access external entities online (you should be able to check if it does that using a network analyzer, for example Wireshark).
