Most people know primarily the XHTML media types note, http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml-media-types/ which seems to clash with this paragraph of the latest XHTML 1.1 draft. I (and others before) have asked the working group standardizing XHTML 1.1 for clarification: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-xhtml2/2007Oct/0007.html Hope this helps. -- olivier
