Is it posssible that you could have a smart validator

If I have something such as <p> </p> or an <img> </img>couldnt the validator actually detect what tags I use rather than just telling me it is wrong?I would be much more grateful if I knew how to fix it!!Couldnt use something like an If Statement or a Case StatementDominic Shiells
