-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello dear validator programmers, I have a feature request. I want the validator to have an option to send a specific Accept header to the server site that is going to be validated. Thus it is not possible to validate negotiated content. (e.g. try validating http://www.itcqis.com/ will validate the HTML 4.01 version, though mozilla will retrieve the XHTML 1.1 version). Instead of sending no Accept header I suggest sending the following accept header as default: Accept: text/xml,application/xml,application/xhtml+xml,text/html;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.1 The extended interface should provide direct access to the accept header. If the accept header is not set through the Accept option, the doctype option should choose the accept header. E.g. choosing HTML should use Accept: text/html while choosing XHTML should use Accept: application/xhtml+xml If you respond, please keep in mind that I'm not subscribed to www-validator@w3.org, so please include me in the To: or Cc: header.
