The checklink utility is very nice. Great utility. One suggestion, it would be nice to have an option for the recursive descent to only descend to pages on the same domain, or perhaps under the same root page. I would think it is often that people want to check their own site's pages and not descend on to pages they have no control over. This is especially true if you link to pages with banners, ads, etc. For example, I have a link to mapquest for directions, and then the checklink utility goes off deep into the bowels of mapquest and its ads, etc. and doesn't return to check my pages. I would rather the tool verified that a link into another domain exists, and then returns to check other links from the page and only descending to other links on the same domain as my initial page. (Or under the root page.) For example if www.xencraft.com/index.html links to www.mapquest.com, don't descend, but if www.xencraft.com/index.html links to www.xencraft.com/anotherpage.html do descend into the links on that page. Great tool though. I was a little surprised that I was missing an id and the validation tool hadn't caught that. I think a check that links to internal ids, have existing targets, should also be in the validation tool... tex -- ------------------------------------------------------------- Tex Texin cell: +1 781 789 1898 mailto:Tex@XenCraft.com Xen Master http://www.i18nGuy.com XenCraft http://www.XenCraft.com Making e-Business Work Around the World -------------------------------------------------------------
