I guess no. But I had it wrong, too ;-(. After
$file =~ s(\015\012){\n}g; # Turn ASCII CRLF into native newline.
we still have CRLF, but then
$file =~ s(\015) {\n}g; # Turn ASCII CR into native newline.
changes the CR to CRLF, so we get CRLFLF.
