I checked telnet from my end, too (from a Win98SE box, at the moment) and I get a 401 error on both root and index.shtml, both HTTP/1.0 and HTTP1.1 and both accept */* and text/html: *** I sent: GET / HTTP/1.0 accept: text/html *** I got back: HTTP/1.1 401 Authorization Required Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 00:36:04 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.9 (Unix) PHP/4.0.1pl2 mod_perl/1.21 FrontPage/4.0.4.3 WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="Virtual Control Panel Version 2.0" Connection: close Content-Type: text/html ... etc.... It would seem to be a configuration problem on the server. As for why it works in IE and not Netscape 6 under Win2K... I'm at a loss. Anyone else care to take a stab?
