Bug? Javasvript and the <p> tag

The following page (http://www.WPI.EDU/~nturner/photos/) does not
validate, but I'm fairly certain it is valid HTML 4.0.  It seems that
the validator sees JavaScript and forgets the beginning <p> tag.
