validator cannot target my remote file

Hello,
I am attempting to add a CSS validation badge to my site and want that logo to 
be a link to my validation results.

When I run the validator on my site, I get the following output:

Target: http://www.evansharp.ca/scripts/layout.css
I/O Error: Unable to contact target server www.evansharp.ca:80 after 3 tries. 

I have also tried it without the absolute path to the css file.
Pease advise me as to what to do.
