Weekly status thread, 2014-08-06

Last week/so far this week:
 - TC39 meeting. We're nailing down ES6, and pushing slowly toward ES7. Minutes at https://github.com/rwaldron/tc39-notes/tree/master/es6/2014-07
 - Talks with David Dorwin and Alex about the TAG's EME opinion and his feedback on it.
 - Lots of discussion about service worker-related APIs and streams in https://github.com/slightlyoff/ServiceWorker/issues/372
 - Proposed adding [Reflect] to WebIDL at http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-script-coord/2014JulSep/0167.html
 - Discussions with Yehuda and some Google web components people about how custom elements "name themselves," and how registries (https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=24578) are meant to solve this. This is a somewhat-big architectural issue, with some general agreement on the path forward, but people need to work through the details, which are subtle.

Upcoming:
 - I plan to reply to Sergey's EME thread later today with some consolidated feedback from my/Alex's discussions with David.
 - Putting more time in to HTML as Custom Elements, which will no doubt raise interesting architectural problems.

Blocked on:
 - Need W3C CVS access to get promises guide flowing through to w3.org.
