Tentative proposal for Tues afternoon meeting in place of TAG F2F next week

Earlier today I explained why we are considering cancelling next week's TAG
meeting. All the responses I've received so far have encouraged me to cancel.

Before I make a formal decision to cancel, I would like to suggest an
alternate path forward. Right now this is just a proposal: if there are no
objections or better ideas, I will formalize it tomorrow:

* The 3 day F2F will be cancelled. It's assumed that those traveling from
out of town will cancel their travel, though Yves indicates he may be in
Boston anyway.

* There will be no TAG activities on the Monday 14 January or the Wednesday
the 16th.

* On Tues 15 January, those of us who are in the Boston area, including
John Kemp and Norm Walsh (if they wish to join us) will meet at the Stata
Center in time to have lunch. John has already expressed interest.

* Starting at (say) 1:30 PM EST we will have a meeting in the Kiva room,
with a teleconference bridge so that non-local TAG members can call in. For
the moment, I'll assume this will be a formal meeting with a quorum,
scribes, etc., but that will depend on participation. We'd go for about 3
hours.

* We will invite newly elected TAG members to dial in, or attend if local.
The main (perhaps only) agenda item will be discussion of TAG directions
with the new members. If there is other business we can do, that's fine too.

I am likely not available for a teleconference this week, so Tues would be
our next formal meeting.

Again, this is just an idea and I'm open to others. If there aren't too
many objections or better alternatives proposed, this is what I expect to
formalize tomorrow.

Comments? Thank you.

Noah
