* update on the "happy IANA" work (would probably fit into the "URI scheme proliferation"), also report on registration of all schemes listed in Wikipedia by Dave Thaler * registerProtocolHanlder, registerContentHandler, the "web+" URI scheme prefix This is related to the "URI Scheme Proliferation", but the recommended reading is different: https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=18975 HTML spec "Custom scheme and content handlers" The bug report has some pointers worth following. * Forking the URL spec? Is using "URI" and "IRI" 'drinking the kool-aide'? Process and progress * precision vs. flexibility in standards, thread with Robin over the URL/IRI spec split.
