Hi Noah, On Jun 16, 2011, at 17:34 , Noah Mendelsohn wrote: > The TAG does the vast majority of its work "in public" on this list, and the draft minutes of our most recent discussion of RDFa and microdata are indeed public at [2]. We occasionally put even such first drafts in public, but there is a downside: they look and feel like considered positions of the TAG, and particularly on matters of great controversy, we wind up with people holding us to positions that aren't necessarily ours, and indeed that may not have been well researched. I fully understand these concerns and am all too familiar with the issues that come from people taking drafts for final works. That being said, I wonder if there might not be a simple solution. With the increasing number of WGs performing work in public, new stylesheets for Editor's Drafts [0] and the lesser known unofficial drafts [1] have been made available and are now in widespread use. Meanwhile the styles for TAG Finding [2] and Draft TAG Finding [3] can be hard to tell apart :) So maybe a big red blinking "draft", or one of those lovely vintage "under construction" sites from the early web (there were so many so early on that they *must* have architectural significance) would help. You might still want to keep some particularly explosive and unfinished drafts members, but it would probably help push more out (and be clearer as to status even for non-conflictual ones).
