Summary of TAG activity from 1st July to 31 October 2005

    This is a summary of the TAG's activity from 1st July 2005 (end date of
    the previous summary [1]) to 31 October 2005.

  1. Meetings

    During this period the TAG held ten teleconferences and one face-to-face
    meeting:

       *  20-22 September 2005 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

    Agendas for these meetings are available in TAG public email archive [2].
    Minutes are linked from the TAG's home page [3].

  2. Issues

    All TAG issues are detailed in the issues list [4].

    During the reporting period the TAG did not open any new issue.

    Two issues were resolved:

       *  How should the problem of identifying ID semantics in XML languages
          be addressed in the absence of a DTD? [5], with the publication of
          xml:id [6] as a W3C Recommendation.
       *  What is the range of the HTTP dereference function? [7], with the
          publication of advice to the community [8] on the issue.

  3. Findings

    A new draft finding, The Disposition of Names in an XML Namespace [9], was
    added to address issue nameSpaceState-48 [10]. No new findings were
    approved during this period.

  4. Communication

    The TAG sent a Review of XRI 2.0 [12] plus an addendum [13] to the
    OASIS Extensible Resource Identifier Technical Committee.

    The TAG sent Last Call comments [14] to IETF on RFC2717bis/RFC2718bis.

    During the W3C Technical Plenary week in Mandelieu, the TAG expects to
    meet with a number of W3C Working Groups to discuss issues of mutual
    interest.

  5. Upcoming

    The next TAG face-to-face meetings are scheduled for

       *  5-6 December 2005 in Cambridge, MA, USA
       *  28 February and 4 March 2006, during the W3C Technical Plenary in
          Mandelieu, France
