1. Administrative
1. Roll call: TBL, SW, DO, PC, IJ, DC, RF, NW, CL.
On IRC: TB
2. Accepted 11 Nov minutes
3. Agreed to publish 18 Nov minutes but not yet
accepted.
4. Accepted this agenda
5. Next meeting: 2 Dec 2002
1.1 Meeting planning
* Next TAG ftf: 6-7 Feb 2003 in Irvine, CA (USA)
2. Technical (75min)
The TAG reviewed action items but didn't have any
substantive technical discussion since people are
still catching up from being on the road.
New agenda items for next meeting:
1. SOAP's prohibiting use of XML internal subset
from Paul Grosso.
2.1 Priority issues
1. xlinkScope-23 (5 minutes)
1. Action SW 2002/11/18: Organize a
special-interest teleconf for discussion of
this issue on linking.
SW: Progress, but please continue.
2. Status of URIEquivalence-15, IRIEverywhere-27.
Relation to Character Model of the Web (chapter
4)? See text from TimBL on URI canonicalization
and email from Martin in particular. See more
comments from Martin.
1. CL 2002/11/18: Write up finding for
IRIEverywhere-27 (from TB and TBL, a/b/c),
to include MD's text.
2. TB 2002/11/18: Write a finding for
URIEquivalence-15 on IRI relation to URI,
different levels of equivalence. Done by
TBL?
TB: I like TBL's document but need to throw
in some examples.
3. Martin 2002/11/18: Write up text about
IRIEverywhere-27 for spec writers to include
in their spec.
3. namespaceDocument-8
1. Action TB 2002/11/18: Solicit proposals for
what a namespace doc should look like for
the particular case of a namespace document
that refers to a DTD and a style sheet. TB
will collate the responses. TB's
solicitation should ask submitters for their
own pros and cons. (Done)
2. Action NW 2002/11/18: Take a stab at
indicating pros and cons for the various
designs.
4. rdfmsQnameUriMapping-6
1. The Schema WG is making progress; they will
get back to us when they're done. See XML
Schema thread on this topic.
DO: This is their issue 120; we should just
wait for them to address it.
2. Action IJ: 2002/11/25: Update
rdfmsQnameUriMapping-6 to indicate waiting
on WSDL WG.
5. uriMediaType-9:
+ Action DC 2002/08/30: Write a draft Internet
Draft based on this finding (Deadline 2
Dec).
DC: Mark Baker is making good progress on
this. Please update deadline to 2 Dec.
6. Status of discussions with WSA WG about
SOAP/WSDL/GET/Query strings?
+ DO 2002/06/24: Contact WSDL WG about this
issue (bindings, query strings and schemas)
to ensure that it's on their radar. See
discussions from 9 Sep TAG teleconf.
DO: Still on the WSDL WG's issues list. My
view on outcome is that in the next few
months they'll take a look at this issue.
Action IJ: Remove this from next agenda,
make sure that issues list whenToUseGet-7
tracks this open state.
2.2 Findings in progress, architecture document
See also: findings.
1. Findings in progress:
1. deepLinking-25
1. TB 2002/09/09: Revise "Deep Linking" in
light of 9 Sep minutes. Status of
finding?
TB: No progress, but I'll get to before
end-of-year. Joseph Reagle made
excellent editorial suggestions which I
plan to adopt. He included a building
analogy which probably works better
(than the watermelon analogy).
DC: Yes, building analogy.
2. 7 Nov 2002 Arch Doc
1. Action CL 2002/11/18: Redraft section 3
based on resolutions of 18 Nov 2002 ftf
meeting.
2. Action DC 2002/11/04: Review "Meaning" to
see if there's any part of self-describing
Web for the arch doc.
3. Action IJ 2002/11/18: Send notes to TAG with
comments on 'Guidelines for the Use of XML
within IETF Protocols'. (Done).
IJ: I heard back from Larry. I don't expect
adoption of my suggestions 1 and 2.
