Looking at the draft resolution to this issue http://www.w3.org/DesignIssues/XLink.html I note that the scope proposed excludes using XLink for the semantic style links that correspond to RDF arcs. This seems to exclude approaches such as Ron Daniel's harvesting of XLinks as RDF Statements, [1]. (More precisely it excludes sowing RDF statements using such XLinks!) With Silvia Martelli and Oreste Signore, I have been working on extending Ron's work to allow XLink to be used as a serialization of RDF. This, while more verbose than RDF/XML, is significantly more conformant with the XML family of specs, and embeds better into XHTML (our use case). We've written our work up, and submitted it to www2003 [2]. Jeremy [1] http://www.w3.org/TR/xlink2rdf [2] http://weblabsrv.cnuce.cnr.it/www2003/36.pdf
