Dear www-tag, This is a summary of the TAG's activity from 5 Oct 2002 (end date of the previous summary [1]) to 4 Nov 2002. The TAG had four teleconferences during this period; summaries of those meetings are linked from the TAG home page [2]. 1) The TAG discussed the following issues in substance: - xlinkScope-23 : What is the scope of using XLink? - RFC3023Charset-21 : Do all "shoulds" of RFC 3023 section 7.1 apply? Details about discussions and related actions are available in the meeting minutes linked from the TAG's home page. The TAG's issues list is available at: http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist 2) The TAG accepted the following issues: - IRIEverywhere-27 : Should W3C specifications start promoting IRIs? - fragmentInXML-28 : Use of fragment identifiers in XML 3) The TAG did not accept the following issue: - "Potential issue re consistency XQuery/Xschema" See relevant discussion at the 4 Nov 2002 teleconference http://www.w3.org/2002/11/04-tag-summary#query-schema 4) The TAG reached a decision on: - RFC3023Charset-21: Do all "shoulds" of RFC 3023 section 7.1 apply? http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/ilist#RFC3023Charset-21 The decision is recorded in the TAG Finding: "Internet Media Type registration, consistency of use" http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/2002/0129-mime Abstract: Internet Media Types are an important part of the Web architecture. This finding discusses three aspects of Internet Media Types: registration by W3C Working Groups, consistency between Internet Media Type and content, and consistency in the communication of character encoding information. 5) The 29 Oct 2002 draft of the Architecture Document was published for TAG review. http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/2002/WD-webarch-20021029 This draft incorporates comments from reviewers of the 30 August 2002 draft, TAG discussion of those comments at the TAG's September face-to-face meeting, and discussion at the 28 October 2002 teleconference. The list of changes is available at: http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/webarch/changes The TAG expects to publish its second "TR page" revision of the Architecture Document in time for the November Advisory Committee meeting. 6) During this period, the TAG published no findings. However, the TAG adopted a policy for findings versioning that is similar to W3C's policy for Technical Reports in terms of persistence. http://www.w3.org/2001/tag/findings#about 7) The TAG prepared for its face-to-face meeting in Boston in November, and for its presentation to the AC.
