[Publication] 6 Dec 2002 Editor's Draft of Architecture of the WWW

Hello,

I've published the 6 Dec 2002 Editor's Draft [1] of the
Arch Doc, which incorporates some discussion (though no
new principles) from the TAG's 18 Nov face-to-face meeting.
The list of changes is available as HTML [2] and as
text below.

This draft has not been reviewed by anyone.

Thank you,

  - Ian

==============================================================

   * 1.3 Summary of terms. Moved intro paragraph to
description of design choices in new 6.1. Also,
added links from category terms to descriptions
     in 6.1.
   * 2.1.1 Identity questions. New section based on
text from DC and material from deleted 2.5. I did
not incorporate all of DC's text about comparing
URIs while we wait for TB's finding on
     URIEquivalence-15.
   * 2.2.1 Comparing identifiers: After good practice
note, added two paragraphs from DC material.
   * Deleted old section 2.2.5 per 18 Nov 2002 ftf
meeting. Moved example to a paragraph of 2.2.4
starting "Ambiguous descriptions of what a URI
identifies increase the likelihood that two
parties will think the same URI identifies
different resources". Edited this paragraph to
try to be clearer about "meaning by following
specifications" v. "meaning through use" (which
is not authoritative). Per comments from TB.
   * 2.2.5 Persistence: This section seemed different
enough from preceding paragraphs that it deserved
its own subsection, even if there's no principle
     (yet).
   * Deleted old section 2.5 ("Some generalities about
URIs"); some material moved to 2.1.1.
   * 3.3.2 XML Namespaces and Namespace Documents: New
section based on text from NW (with his
corrections and a few minor changes). Moved
     namespaceDocument-8 issue placeholder here.
   * 6. Glossary: Divided in two: category
descriptions (based on comment by David Orchard
at 18 Nov 2002 ftf meeting) and technical terms.
   * 7.2 Non-Normative References:
+ Added citation of "Guidelines For The Use of
XML in IETF Protocols." Referred to from
3.3.1 "When to use XML." Per comments from
	 TB.
+ Per comment from Misha Wolf, changed "URI's"
	 to "URIs" in [COOL]
+ Added OWL10 and DAMLOIL, referred to from
	 2.1.1.
