I agree with the action from the F2F (below), that the mesh element should support objectBoundingBox units. However, I wonder whether it wouldn't also be useful to support viewBox/preserveAspectRatio similar to how they work on pattern tiles. This would have two benefits: * you could define a mesh effect that scales to fit the referencing element, without having to define every point in decimal numbers. * you could control aspect ratio of the paint separately from the dimensions of the bounding box, so that for example circles don't always get stretched into ellipses.
