Reopening WG Disussion on SVG2 Features Font and Replicate

I'm aware that the group has discussed the replicate proposal and has followed the SVG Font path shaping discussion online.

I'd like to know specifically what needs to be proven to the WG for replicate and font shaping functionality to be reconsidered as necessary features of SVG2.

Several authors have put forward use cases for these features -- what are the next steps?
