Four years ago there was a thread about whether an SVGMatrix passed to SVGTransform::setMatrix is "live", i.e. whether subsequent changes to that matrix object affect the transform. The thread started here. http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-svg/2004Jun/0016.html There was followup discussion in this Bugzilla bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=249263 where people explained some use cases for having the matrix be "live". As far as I can tell the 1.1 spec has still not been clarified to indicate whether the matrix is live or not. Please come to a decision and issue a spec update to indicate whether it's live or not. Thanks, Rob -- "He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all." [Isaiah 53:5-6]
