http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=5182 Summary: Allow Null-Namespace 'href' Attribute Product: SVG Version: SVG 1.2 Full Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: Linking AssignedTo: schepers@w3.org ReportedBy: schepers@w3.org QAContact: www-svg@w3.org In order to ease authoring, and to converge with HTML syntax, we should examine the possibility of allowing a null-namespace 'href' attribute on <a>, <use>, <image> and other elements. Another option is to allow the use of 'xlink:href' without an explicit XLink namespace declaration. Note that both approaches do have drawbacks as well as advantages... see attached links.
