The execution of a media element has a 'timing' part similar to that of a SMIL Animation element (including the sending of events) as well as a 'rendering' part, ie the presentation of the media to the user. A defs element does not influence the 'timing' part of SMIL animation elements. Does a defs element stop the execution of the 'timing' part of a media element as well as its rendering ? In other words, are the events of a media element sent when the media element is a child of a defs ? Thanks Nicolas Pierre, Erwann Gouesbet, Julien Tranchant and Jean-Claude Dufourd
