SVG says nothing about how big a thumbnail should be, whether it is animated, etc. This language feature allows a content author to pick a moment in time which is useful and representative, in the event that the tumbnail of the animation is a single static image. Please either remove this BH> feature from the draft or clearly indicate that implementation of this BH> feature is mandatory. How would you express a mandatory requirement on thumbnails? For example, on many systems a fixed icon per media type is used Or a fixed one for all images. or an animated icon could be used. or an icon that has a red bar across the diagonal with the first frame in the upper left half and the last frame in the bottom right half. Or many other ways. -- Chris Lilley mailto:chris@w3.org Chair, W3C SVG Working Group W3C Graphics Activity Lead
