Vector Graphics References

Hello All

Sorry if this is a bit off topic. I am doing a report on Vector Graphics, and am particularly interested in the many applications of vector graphics (past and present). I am interested in how suitable SVG is to these applications, and any other potential applications of SVG.

I would really appreciate any pointers to papers and other references on the subject of Vector Graphics. I have already seen all (or most) of the online articles about SVG, PGML & VML. Any references/links/suggestions can be emailed to me directly.
