Dear members of the CSS Working Group, I'm relaying the announcement to the group's primary public mailing list to notify the group of its charter extension. Best regards, Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: VOTE by 2025-01-10/11: Proposed Charter for the CSS Working Group; Current Charter Extended Date: Fri, 22 Nov 2024 16:31:14 +0800 From: xueyuan <xueyuan@w3.org> To: w3c-ac-members@w3.org Dear Advisory Committee Representative, [This announcement will be forwarded to W3C group chairs] This is a Call for Review of a proposed recharter for the CSS Working Group: https://www.w3.org/2024/11/css-wg-ac.html Please review the charter and indicate your support using this online form: https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/33280/css-2025/ The deadline for responses is 04:59 UTC on 11 January 2025 (23:59, Boston time on 10 January) [0]. The previous charter only mentioned the CSS Object Model under APIs in scope. However, there are several CSS-related APIs under development, such as the Font Loading API, the CSS Layout API, and so on. Thus, the API section of the scope has been generalized to more clearly include that work. In addition, this proposed charter adds the Intersection Observer, an API previously developed by the Web Platform Working Group. The proposed team resource for the group is increased from 0.5 to 0.6 FTE. The Advisory Committee Representatives of current participants will need to have their organizations re-join the group if the revised charter gets approved. To see all changes relative to the current charter, follow this link: https://services.w3.org/htmldiff?doc1=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2023%2F01%2Fcss-2023.html&doc2=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2024%2F11%2Fcss-wg-ac.html The horizontal review of the charter is available as a Strategy Github repository issue: https://github.com/w3c/strategy/issues/477 The CSS WG is working with the Privacy WG and the Internationalization WG to find an equitable solution to the font fingerprinting issue. The current charter [1] is hereby extended until 12 March 2025 to accommodate the charter review period. More information about the group can be found on its home page [2], including information about group Chairs, Team Contact, and instructions for joining the group. If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Chris Lilley, Team Contact for CSS Working Group, at chris@w3.org. This charter review and extension follow sections 4.3 and 4.5 of the W3C Process Document: https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20231103/#CharterReview https://www.w3.org/2023/Process-20231103/#charter-extension Thank you, For Philippe le Hégaret, W3C Strategy and Project Lead, Chris Lilley, CSS Working Group Team Contact; Xueyuan Jia, W3C Marketing & Communications [0] https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20250110T2359&p1=43 [1] https://www.w3.org/2023/01/css-2023.html [2] https://www.w3.org/groups/wg/css/
