Hello, " (...) constraint the box’s inline-axis fill-available fit into the smaller of (...) " CSS3 Writing-Modes, §7.3.2. Auto-sizing Block Containers in Orthogonal Flows 1.Calculate the used column-width: o) https://drafts.csswg.org/css-writing-modes-3/#auto-multicol and "fill available fit" linked to CSS3 Sizing, §2. Terminology http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-sizing/#terms but "fill available fit" expression is not defined. I believe (although not entirely sure) that fill available fit's definition would be and should be instead fill available *measure*. So the statement in CSS3 Writing-Modes §7.3.2.1 o) should be saying: " (...) constraint the box’s inline-axis fill-available measure into the smaller of (...) " and "fill-available measure" should be linking to " fill-available measure Roughly, the measure a box would take if it filled its available measure.
