I can think of some, starting with defining 'rowspan' and 'colspan' properties (that could be used to describe how they work in HTML), and maybe something like a 'break-after: row' to create new rows without requiring an extra 'display: table-row' element. Beyond that, it would be nice to have something for mobile that could turn a many-columned table into something with only one or two columns, and the original column headers used as labels for a horizontally arranged set of labels and values within the cells of one column. Maybe there would be a way to do that with some of the content moving and cloning considered for footnotes. Because many-columned tables really do not work well on a phone-sized screen.
