| | "what is "dim"?" / "what is "bright"?" | I not a light expert, but the light level should change when the color scheme of the website or app should be updated. Let's take the GPS Navigation software example. Dim mode: when the GPS switch to a white streets on black map theme. Ideal for tunnels and night navigation. Normal mode: roads are displayed as an overlay over a background layer (why not an aerial-like map of the surroundings). In the 'normal' mode, the screen's brightness is automatically modified by the OS to accommodate small lighting variations. Bright mode: the background is switched to full white, roads are full black and font is made bolder to accommodate direct sunlight (glances) on the screen. Gradients and some fancy effects are removed. François
