Hello, This issue in section 2.1.1 of the editor's draft [1] asks if there should be a way to specify the locale. I wouldn't think so, because the locale of the element for which the "string-set" property is set can be determined and used. The user's system has no relationship with the document, so it should only act as a default locale for the document. For the formatting of dates and times an optional second parameter could be used. Values like "short", "medium" and "long" could provide for locale-dependent formatting, while a picture string, as defined in [2] for example, could be used to fix the format. Best regards, Werner.
