Actually I never assumed that min-column-width would be calculated from content. I don't think it is a good idea either. I thought about it as a settable property, just like min-width. The most sensible value would probably be the longest (unbreakable) word. Or maybe the widest image? This quickly brings us to columns with varying widths. Hmm.
