Easily selecting all controls that are invalid irrespective of UA UI decisions? It's tricky. Thinking about it some more I do not really like the :invalid-ui idea either. It is too unpredictable. Having more concretely defined pseudo-classes and allowing UAs to play around with them in their UA stylesheet seems better.
