The need to make extraneous calls means the value does not round-trip.
I'm not interested in forcing developers to write extra code to satisfy your
distaste.
If you want to formally object to something this trivial, it's your call.

You don't need new APIs to avoid e-notation -- you can use the
"toFixed" method today.
