Table and block

Hello!

I would like to ask you about the types of the visualized DOM-tree elements.
At the http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/visuren.html (Visual Formatting model), it
is written that there are 2 types of boxes: inline box and block box. What
about tables? Table, is it a block?
