I ran into this myself the other day, when I experimentally created a large box with a very large blur on an inner shadow, in order to create the effect of a curving light reflection against a dark background element. It would generally hang Safari (Webkit nightly) for about 45seconds at a time, and then do so repeatedly, so that it was hard to even close the window.
