The current Editor's Draft [1] states: # Given the complexities of 'width' and 'height' on table cells and table elements, # calc() expressions for 'width' and 'height' on table columns, table column groups, # table rows, table row groups, and table cells in both auto and fixed layout tables # are treated as if 'auto' had been specified. >From the introductory part of the sentence - 'table cells and table elements' - and the subsequent enumeration, it's currently unclear whether display:table is one of the display types for which calc() expressions resolve to auto.
