The CSS WG published a new WD: CSS Mobile Profile 2.0
http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-css-mobile-20061208
It's called a "profile" and that means that the goal of the
specification is to list the features that all handheld devices must
implement as a minimum, in order to claim conformance to CSS. (Many
mobile browsers will, or already do implement more, of course.)
It's called "2.0" but it is meant to completely replace "1.0".
When the 1.0 draft was published as a Candidate Recommendation, it
turned out that it was slightly different from another specification,
called WCSS 1, published by the OMA (Open Mobile Alliance). Since then,
W3C and OMA decided to work together on a common profile. This is the
first draft.
Comments are welcome on this mailing list, www-style@w3.org. If you send
comments, please prefix the subject line with "[css-mobile]", as I did
on this message.
